Designing Inquiry: Data, Theory, and Analytics

The primary motive of this course is to explore power dynamics and potential biases in data collection and visualisation, promoting a deeper understanding of the impact of data. With the aid of theoretical frameworks, it also equips students to develop their own analytical lens—enabling them to ground their future inquiries in thoughtful, context-aware perspectives.

The course is a comprehensive foundation in data analysis, interpretation, and visualization, equipping students to generate meaningful academic insights and make informed decisions in a data-driven world. This enables students to consider the social and cultural contexts of data production and its potential consequences.
